About Us
The FBCL (Friends of the Breast-Cancer ListServ) is a Florida not-for-profit corporation which has received recognition under the IRS requirements for non-taxable status. The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, or scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. FBCL was founded in 2001.
Raising scholarship money so List members with limited resources can attend List gatherings.
Seeking funding through direct solicitation and donation and by way of grants to fund ListServ members' financial needs, be they funds for medical care, treatment, transportation or other.
Seeking funding to aid the families of deceased ListServ members where that need is present.
Providing members with brochures about the Listserv that they can leave behind in their doctors' offices and breast centers to let other breast cancer patients know about the Listserv.
Presently, the FBCL has established several funds. Click below to view the details of each fund.
Anyone may donate to the FBCL. It is not necessary for the donor to be a member of FBCL, or even of the Breast-Cancer Listserv. The FBCL will be soliciting funds from corporate and private sources both within and outside of the BC Listserv. It is the goal of FBCL to generate enough funds through these donations to be able to support any need that arises within our BC List Community. And, remember that your donation is tax deductible.
If you wish to make a directed donation or to honor a loved one with your donation, please indicate to which fund your donation is to be applied; i.e., the Ruth Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Community Fund, or one of the funds that have been set up to aid specific members of the Breast-Cancer Listserv.
